Well Woman health check

Well woman healthcheck

The well woman healthcheck is part of a preventative health screening offering, designed to help you assess your current state of health and catch early signs of illness.

This medical is for busy women looking for a general overview of their health status without the expense and length of time spent on a Full Circle Medical. In addition to blood tests and other baseline measurements, this health check assesses risk factors such as high cholesterol and cervical health as well as reviewing your lifestyle and health requirements.

Cervical screening often referred to as the smear test, is a quick screening which should be done every three years from women aged 26 – 49 and every five years for women aged 50 – 64 years of age. The test is used to assess the cells of the cervix. Any abnormal cells are then investigated further and these abnormalities can lead to cancer. Any abnormal findings will need urgent further investigations either via your own GP or a private referral from the health screening clinic to one of our consultant gynaecologists at Circle Bath Hospital.

According to the NHS, ‘It is estimated that early detection and treatment can prevent up to 75% of cervical cancers.’

As you get older, the chances of developing breast cancer gradually increase.

The well woman health screen is carried out at Circle Bath, a state-of-the-art hospital, which provides you with some of the best facilities and superb patient care. We have a dedicated team of doctors and nurses who will guide you through the health screening process and will be available to answer any questions or queries you may have.

If any of our screening medicals find something that requires further investigation, we have over 120 consultant specialists who can assess you further on-site.
