Diagnostic ultrasound

An ultrasound is a form of imaging using sound waves, which allows your Circle consultant to see inside your body. It is more commonly used during pregnancy, but it can also be useful to diagnose a variety of other problems and conditions within muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue.

The images are visible at the time of scan, meaning an ultrasound is also a useful tool to aid consultants in administering treatments.

Your expert Circle consultant will perform the ultrasound. You may be required to move during the scan, depending on your injury or problem. Your consultant will explain to you what is being shown on the ultrasound screen and will then advise you on the next step of your treatment.

Diagnostic Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure used to diagnose problems to aid treatment.

Ultrasounds are safe and because they use sound waves as opposed to radiation, they are suitable to use during pregnancy.
