Rehabilitation specialist consultant Dr Diba Shariat has immersed herself in education and training in rehabilitation medicine. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals, Dr Shariat is instrumental in devising treatment programmes and treatment plans for patients with complex neurological needs.
She was inspired to pursue a career in rehabilitation because she could see a real value in enablement, in developing treatment programmes with patients that were in line with their goals and truly led by the patient themselves.
Dr Shariat started her career in stroke rehabilitation. She found that there were wider challenges facing rehabilitation of patients and service users in the UK because rehabilitation was not necessarily built into the care pathway - and sees great opportunity in making a difference for patients and for the wider UK approach to rehabilitation.
Dr John Woolmore

Dr John Woolmore is a specialist independent Consultant Neurologist in Birmingham with a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis. He trained in medicine at the University of Cambridge and completed education in neurology in the West Midlands.
Within Circle Rehabilitation, in Birmingham, Dr Woolmore, specialises in the rehabilitation of neurology patients and is an expert in Multiple Sclerosis. He is an expert in neuroscience, neurology, neurological disorders. He also helps people who are experiencing headaches, including migraine and cluster headaches, and who are recovering from neurosurgery, alongside the neurology team in the specialist clinics at Circle Rehabilitation.

Dr Mohammed Amir Rather is the lead independent consultant for the video telemetry, electroencephalography (Brain wave tests) and polysomnography (sleep studies and sleep disorders) services and sleep clinic at the Barberry, National Centre for Mental Health, Birmingham. He is also an honorary lecturer in clinical neuropsychiatry at the University of Birmingham.
Dr Rather has wide expertise in a full range of mental health conditions such as mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, functional neurological disorders, and neuropsychiatry of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and complex somatoform disorders and medically unexplained symptoms. Her range of current treatments and drug treatments includes a comprehensive range of joint and soft tissue injections.
Dr Chandratre's special interests are in auto-inflammatory diseases such as crystal arthritis and Behcet's syndrome.

Dr Noushad Mytheen is an independent Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist, He completed his National Specialist Registrar training in Clinical Neurophysiology from Sheffield teaching Hospitals in 2002 with attachments at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London.
Dr Mytheen is the clinical lead at the Clinical Neurophysiology Department at City Hospital (Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust) which is one of the largest provider of Neurophysiology services in the West Midlands receiving referrals from a large number of hospitals and GP surgeries.

Dr Andrew Mocroft is an independent Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist with a clinic at Circle Rehabilitation in Birmingham.
Dr Mocroft has a special interest in nerve entrapment - trapped nerves - and nerve injury. Patients with nerve compression or nerve injury often report feelings of pain, which can be sharp, aching or burning, or pins and needles, or muscle weakness. Sometimes this can be due to nerve injury or nerve damage (such as nerves in the spinal cord and vertebra causing low back pain), or due to a medical condition.

Dr Nicola Wheeler

Having become interested in dementia care as a result of personal experiences, Nikki completed her undergraduate Psychology degree at the University of Birmingham. She carried out research projects with people with dementia and their families and friends, and undertook a Masters in Psychological Research Methods. She has worked clinically with younger and older people with memory problems and dementia, and is trained in psychological group interventions for people with dementia including cognitive stimulation therapy and Sonas.
Owing to an interest in systemic family therapy, she undertook Association of Family Therapy qualifications whilst completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Plymouth University. Nikki has experience of working in mental health services including inpatient and crisis settings, and in a specialist neuro rehabilitation and brain injury inpatient setting. Completion of neuropsychological and capacity assessments have been core aspects of her work, as well as formulating how thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences impact each other and cause distress.

Dr Parijat De is an independent Consultant Physician in General Internal Medicine with specialist interest in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Lipid Metabolism in Birmingham working at Circle Rehabilitation.
He is an experienced General Physician and participates in the day to day ward based care of his medical patients as well as participates in medicine on-call and deals with acute medical emergencies. Mr Mark Gallagher

Mark Gallagher is a Consultant Podiatrist specialising in musculoskeletal injury to the lower limb and the foot and ankle specifically. Mark worked for over 15 years in a regional civilian and military trauma unit based in Birmingham which allowed him to develop his musculoskeletal and trauma specialities in his role as clinical lead as well as providing expect mechanical interventions for a vast array of neurological conditions that affect the foot and ankle.
Mark has always worked in a multidisciplinary (MD) setting and this has enabled him to understand how collaborative working provides the most effective outcome for respective patient groups.
Mark believes that the ability to communicate openly with those involved in the care pathways are instrumental in optimising the end results for his patients and the process of understanding and learning from other disciplines makes clinical practice exciting and rewarding.
Mark continues to work in elite sport, predominantly in football and netball and works at both a domestic and national level within these sports groups for both senior mens and womens teams as well as children and young adults.
Dr Girija Sadalage

Dr Girija Sadalage is a Consultant Neurologist at Circle Rehabilitation, Birmingham. Dr Sadalage has a sub-specialist interest in Neuro-Immunology and has completed three years research on Myasthenia Gravis. She also has experience in dealing with a wide range of neurological problems, both acute and chronic.
Dr Sadalage completed her medical training at the University of Mysore in India and her Neurology training in the West Midlands. She has a PhD qualification from Nottingham University in Clinical neurology.
In 2018 Dr Sadalage was appointed as a Consultant Neurologist and works across sites at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. She runs specialist clinics in neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular disorders, and several general clinics which incorporates a wide range of specialities such as:
