Self-pay is when you pay for your own private healthcare without using medical insurance. So, you just pay for what you need, as and when you need it. It's a pay-as-you-go approach to private healthcare.

This page explains how and why you might pay for your own medical treatment with Circle Health Group, as well as explaining how we work out the costs of treatment. We also share guide prices for some of our most common procedures to give you an idea of what to expect.

If you've already decided to pay for your own treatment and are looking to find out exactly how the process works at Circle, use our handy self-pay step-by-step guide.

At Circle Health Group, you can be sure of getting the highest quality care, fast.

With increasing pressure on waiting lists across the UK, choosing to go private lets you get the care you need without the wait. With us, your initial consultation could be as little as 48 hours after first getting in touch.

You won't wait long between appointments, you won't face delays to treatments you need, and it's incredibly rare that we ever cancel operations.

We tailor our treatment to every individual, meaning you'll get the right care for your specific condition, as well as the right care for your personal needs and circumstances.

Private healthcare costs depend on a variety of factors, including:

  • The region (and the private hospital) you choose to have treatment in
  • The type of treatment you are having
  • Which consultant is leading your treatment

Just like every person is different, every treatment plan is different, and so the cost of private healthcare will vary from person to person.

Still, we know that many people want to get a rough idea of prices before they decide to go private.

So, here are guide prices for some of our most commonly performed treatments and operations:

Don't see the procedure you're looking for? Give us a call and our friendly advisors can help you find what you need.

We will always confirm the cost of any treatment or procedure upfront in writing, before you book.

When you use self-pay, you'll get a fixed-price package that will include your aftercare, so you won't get any nasty surprises down the line - and you can just focus on getting better.

Consultant's fees and diagnostics

Our fixed-price packages do not include consultant fees for the initial consultation. These vary quite a lot, but on average they tend to start from around £200.

You'll also have to pay separately for diagnostics done during this initial consultation, for example if you need an X-ray or blood tests. Your consultant will check that you are OK with these prices before booking anything in.

Where to find price lists for our hospitals

Many of our hospitals have dedicated pages that share the average prices for their most common treatments and operations.

To find these, use our hospital finder to find the Circle hospital nearest to you, and scroll down to the section called Treatment Prices.

*Our fixed-price packages do not include the cost of your initial consultation or any diagnostic tests done at the time. Prices will be confirmed after your first appointment with a consultant specialist.

All prices given are guide prices. Our treatment packages are bespoke, and therefore our private healthcare prices differ from case to case. We will confirm prices in writing before going ahead with any treatment.

These prices are only applicable to patients who are paying for their own treatment. If you want to pay for treatment using your health insurance, the costs will generally be covered by your provider.

Private healthcare is more affordable than you might think.

There are three ways you can pay for healthcare at our private hospitals and clinics:

  • Pay in full
  • Use our flexible payment options to spread the cost
  • Use your private medical insurance

Flexible payment options

We work with Chrysalis Finance to offer loans for treatment, allowing our patients to pay for their care monthly.

Using a loan from Chrysalis, you can spread the cost over a period that suits you, from 12 months to five years. For the first 10 months, repayments are interest free.**
