Mr Umer Butt is a consultant specialising in knee and arthroscopic shoulder surgery practising full time at Circle Bath Hospital since October 2013.

He qualified in 2001 from St Petersburg Medical Academy. Following that he completed his basic surgical training from Wessex Deanery and orthopaedic training in Bristol and South West region.

After completing his FRCS in orthopaedics he went to complete his specialised fellowship in computer navigation knee and soft tissue reconstruction with Dereford University Hospital, Plymouth. He also gained extensive experience in shoulder arthroscopic surgery in the United Kingdom and also by travelling abroad mainly to France.

Having published in peer review journals, Mr Butt is very keen in research and is currently running two projects relating to knee surgery. He is involved in various teaching facilities nationally and internationally.
