Mr Peter Hale is Consultant General Surgeon and Clinical Chair at Circle Reading Hospital.
He was educated at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge (1976-1979) and then attended St.Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College (1979-1984). His General Surgical training started at St Thomas' Hospital and then as a Registrar and Senior Registrar on the Guy's Hospital Surgical training scheme. He also was a lecturer at Guys' Hospital Medical School undertaking research into gastric repair mechanisms.
He passed the intercollegiate FRCS in General Surgery in 1995 and was appointed as Consultant Surgeon to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in 1995, a post he held until 2014. He has extensive experience in upper and lower GI surgery, hernia repair and intestinal endoscopy.
He specialises in surgical gastroenetrology and has extensive experience of upper and lower GI surgery and and endoscopy. He has an interest in all aspects of hernia.
Currently works exclusively for Circle Health.

Peter has an interest in all aspects of surgical gastroenterology. He has specific and extensive experience in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, oesophogogastric surgery, upper and lower GI endoscopy and all aspects of hernia repair including groin pain in sportsmen. He also undertakes treatment of anal conditions including the HALO procedure for haemorrhoids.
