She graduated in medicine with a Distinction from the University of Leeds. She also gained a 1st Class honours degree in Clinical Sciences from the University of Leeds.
She completed her structured ophthalmology training in the well renowned Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and West Midlands.
Her specialist interest is medical retina related disease so she pursued a Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. This fellowship allowed vast exposure to research and clinical experience in Age-Related Macular degeneration, eye diseases related to diabetes, retinal vein occlusions, infectious and non-infectious inflammatory eye diseases.
Retinal disease is her main passion along with minimally invasive cataract Surgery. She left Moorfields Eye Hospital to take up the Ophthalmology Consultant position here in Bath.
Misha is the lead for diabetic retinopathy screening through her NHS consultant position at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Her team have received accolades such as The Team of the Month Award at the RUH. She is heavily involved in teaching and training to ensure excellent care is given to the diabetic population locally.
As the lead for ophthalmology teaching, Misha supports Bristol medical students at The University of Bristol. She organises one-to-one as well as group teaching to enhance student on the subject of eye-related diseases. She is passionate about passing on her knowledge.
Mrs Badial is a keen oil painter and has pursued this hobby since her school days when she used to exhibit her work in national galleries. She is passionate about international cooking and has taken up yoga for fitness and relaxation purposes. She is married to a GP in Bath.

Misha is on a number of national advisory boards including BAYER, NOVARTIS and Alimera Sciences. She provides educational information on the use of anti-VEGF in wet macular degeneration. She regularly attends international meetings to share and update knowledge including Euretina, American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), World Ophthalmology Congress and Annual Congress.
Misha provides informative talks to both the general public and referring clinicians including optometrists.
