Personal Profile
After qualifying from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, Mr Rigby completed his basic surgical training at University College Hospital in London. His specialist training was in the Wessex region.
He later received fellowship in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter where he spent a year working in the world-renowned hip unit. He is also a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society.
Mr Rigby specialises in young adult hip pathology and all problems associated with the hip joint. He performs primary and revision hip replacements, hip arthroscopies, knee arthroscopies and knee replacements.
All joint replacements are recorded on the National Joint register and hip arthroscopy surgeries recorded on the Non Arthroplasty Hip register.
He is involved in teaching hip surgery nationally and internationally and is involved with ODEP and ‘Beyond Compliance’ – a national group controlling the introduction of new hip and knee prostheses.
