Mr Austin Acheson is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. He is a specialist in colorectal surgery and has a particular interest in laparoscopic surgery, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colorectal Cancer, Intestinal failure, Hernias and benign conditions of the anus (haemorrhoids, fistulae, fissures).
He is a recognised national trainer in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and is chair of the Research and Audit Committee of the Association of Coloproctology of GB and Ireland.
He is Undergraduate Lead for Surgery at University of Nottingham and is on the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has published over 70 peer reviewed papers on all aspects of colorectal disease.
Mr Acheson sees and treats NHS patients at the Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.
