He then completed a fellowship diploma in pain management in Dallas, Texas and became a fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2008.

Dr Souter has been working as a consultant in his field in Bath for over 17 years and is highly interested and motivated by his involvement in the management of pain problems in patients.

Some long-term pain conditions are relatively straightforward to manage, and can be quickly and effectively treated with safe, well evidenced interventions such as spinal injections.

Persistent pain can require a more complex holistic management plan. The plan may include: injection treatments, a tailored medication plan, exercise and physiotherapy and help reducing the psychological aspects of chronic pain. These different facets come together to achieve the aim of reducing the impact of persistent pain on your quality of life.
