Sinus Surgery
Sinus surgery relates to a number of different operations used to treat sinus problems. Nowadays these are often carried out endoscopically, whereas previously sinus operations were done through incisions to the face and mouth. Endoscopic sinus surgery enables the operation to be performed without the need for these cuts and results in less scarring.
Another type of procedure is a maxillary antroscopy, which clears the sinus opening. Often performed at the same time is a endoscopic uncinectomy which clears the osteomeatal complex. The main objective of any type of sinus surgery is to relieve a patient’s symptoms and reduce the number of infections.
Tonsillectomy
A tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing a patient’s tonsils. Tonsils contain white blood cells to help fight infection, however they themselves can become infected causing tonsillitis. This infection is very common and can reoccur frequently which may lead to a patient wanting to have a tonsillectomy. This procedure is also common in children.

Thyroid surgery, otherwise known as a thyroidectomy, is when all or part of the thyroid gland is removed. The thyroid is responsible for creating 2 hormones that regulate body temperature, metabolism and heart rate.

This can improve airflow up the nose and can help the patient breathe more easily. A septoplasty can also be performed alongside a rhinoplasty or nose job to change the external shape and size of the nose.
