Lesley began her career as a biomedical scientist in the NHS in Newcastle. Among her 22 years working in healthcare, she has served more than a decade at Nuffield, as Pathology Manager, Operations Manager, Hospital Commissioning Manager and most recently, for three-and-a-half years, as Hospital Director. She has also worked for the National Institute for Health Research.
Lesley joined us from Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, where she was Hospital Director, leading the organisation to “Outstanding” by the CQC in 3 domains: Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
Mr Andrew Chambler
Clinical Chairman, Consultant & CU LeadRead biography
Andrew is the Clinical Chairman at Circle Bath. He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK for the past 14 years, having qualified at St Mary’s Hospital medical School, part of Imperial College, in London.
He gained his Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship with Professor Carr in Oxford and has since been awarded travelling fellowships to UK & Europe as well as to the world renowned Mayo Clinic in the USA, by the British Elbow & Shoulder Society.
Prior to joining Circle Bath, he was Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at Yeovil District Hospital where he developed the shoulder & elbow service. He concentrated on advanced arthroscopic techniques and joint replacement but also lead on quality control through the audit of surgical outcomes.
Whilst continuing at Yeovil, in 2010 he joined Circle Bath as a surgical partner to promote a new healthcare provider for the NHS as well as private patients. In 2013 he moved full-time to Circle as the first Executive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working at both the Reading and Bath hospitals.
Head of Nursing and AHPsRead biography
Jennifer Anstey is Head of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals at Circle Bath. She joined the team in November 2019. Jenny trained as a registered nurse in North Devon District Hospital over 30 years ago and has worked in a surgical setting for the majority of that time. She was charge nurse in Florida, USA for two years on a general surgical ward, then completed her cardiothoracic ENB course at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire.
Jenny then moved to Bupa Hospitals in Bristol (now Spire) to continue caring for cardiac surgical patients and moved to a Matron post in Specialised Services at University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust in 2009, covering cardiology, cardiac surgery, haematology and oncology, but also working in surgery and gynaecology during that period. She spent a year in Community Nursing as a lead for Innovation, Safety and Research before joining the team here at Circle.
Head of Finance and PerformanceRead biography
Travis is a qualified Chartered Accountant and joined Circle Bath in October 2018, as a Management Accountant. He later moved to Head of Finance and Performance for the site in 2019.
Prior to this, Travis has worked within the healthcare industry as a Management Accountant, overseeing the financial performance of different service areas. This included service transformation, to bring areas of the business back into financial health and leading on business growth opportunities, including the mobilisation of new services and tender bids.
Head of OperationsRead biography
Tim is a Chartered Engineer who joined Circle in 2019, having previously worked for NHS Community and Acute Trusts within the South-West and Shropshire. He has been responsible for ensuring prioritisation and delivery of capital replacement schemes and as a senior manager within Estates, Facilities and Operations.
Career highlights include chairing the South-West Clinical Engineering Group, teaching for the Clinical Engineering Practitioner Training Program at UWE and supporting the transfer of Women’s and Children’s Services from Shrewsbury to Telford hospitals. Throughout his career, he has undertaken services reviews to ensure financial sustainability and modernisation of services to provide support to clinical functions.
Business Development LeadRead biography
Sam joined the hospital as the Business Development Lead in September 2018. Prior to this Sam has been involved in various commercial and marketing roles including serving over six years as a marketer, four of which were spent with Spire Healthcare. He has extensive knowledge of promoting private healthcare services to key stakeholders and has implemented many large healthcare marketing campaigns across digital and traditional media.
He is set to complete a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, having also achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Business Management.
