Circle Physiotherapy is part of the wider Circle Partnership. It is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary physiotherapy clinic based at Circle Reading hospital and Circle Bath hospital. Specialist clinicians within the teams are able to offer up-to-date, evidence-based practice, in the treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal complaints.
All clinicians are fully qualified and are registered with the appropriate governing body. They are involved in regular internal and external training in order to ensure the standard of treatment you receive is the best available.
The Circle credo, good enough never is, underpins our approach to care whether you are young or old, a weekend warrior or an elite sportsperson. Our passion, dedication, and experience will help you achieve the results you want and restore your quality of life.
Who we treat
Our client base consists of members of the general public and people who have undergone surgery. Clients may be young or old, post-operative, non-sporting, weekend warriors, or elite sportspeople. Regardless of age, problem, or sporting activity level, our priority is to relieve your symptoms and restore your quality of life.
We treat private, self-pay, and NHS patients referred by their consultant via agreed care pathways.
We are recognised by the majority of private healthcare insurance companies.
What to expect
On arrival at the hospital, you will be asked to complete a patient registration form at main reception. You will then be directed to the physiotherapy clinic.
On arrival at the physiotherapy clinic you will be greeted by reception staff and asked to complete a questionnaire concerning your current health status. Completion of this form before you start treatment and after your final appointment allows us to monitor the effectiveness of our treatment.
In order to complete the above documentation, we request that you attend your first appointment approximately ten minutes earlier than your stated appointment time.
You will wait in the physiotherapy department waiting area until your clinician comes to collect you and takes you to a treatment room.
The initial appointment consists of a detailed history of the problem, followed by a physical examination. Dependent on the body area concerned, you may be required to undress. We advise, therefore, that you bring a pair of shorts and consider your choice of clothing before attending.
At the end of the appointment your clinician will discuss their findings with you and suggest an appropriate treatment plan. They will then return you to reception to book a follow-up appointment and if appropriate, pay for your treatment.
If you are being booked into an exercise class, please ensure you wear loose comfortable clothing and trainers when you attend.
Our clinicians offer individually tailored treatment programmes that are focussed on achieving your personal goals. The aim of treatment is not only to reduce symptoms and discomfort, but to identify the cause of the problem and prevent recurrence, allowing you to return to normal living.
How to book an appointment
To book an appointment please contact us directly. We can normally offer appointments within one to two days.
Once your appointment is booked, it would be very helpful if you could complete the patient registration form and bring it with you when you attend.
Patients who are paying for their own appointments do not need a GP referral. They can simply call and book to arrange an appointment.
Private healthcare insurance
We are recognised by all major medical insurance schemes. In order to access physiotherapy you will need to consult your healthcare provider and get an authorisation number for treatment. Some providers also require you visit your GP first, but you will be informed of this on contacting the healthcare company. Failure to comply may result in the insurance provider refusing to cover your treatment costs.
Cancelling/rescheduling an appointment
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.
All patients are requested to give at least 24-hours notice of cancellation. Failure to do so will result in a charge, as the appointment time may not be filled at short notice.
Please note that private healthcare insurers will not cover the cost of missed appointments or cancellations within 24-hours. You will be required to settle the charge directly.
Payment for self-pay patients is made after each appointment by debit or credit card. If you wish to pay by cash or cheque, we will send you an invoice following the appointment which will then inform you how you can make payment via cash or cheque.
Private healthcare insurance
If you have private healthcare insurance and an authorisation number, we will invoice the insurance company directly. It is advisable to confirm payment options with your insurer when you are contacting them for an authorisation number. They will usually advise you as to how many sessions are being authorised and this will be requested by the physiotherapist receptionist and your physiotherapist at your first appointment.
