(also known as Breast Augmentation):
Breast enlargement is a surgical procedure which increases the size and enhances the shape of the breasts, by the insertion of a suitable breast implant under the chest. There are a wide variety of breast implants available and your surgeon will give you advice on the size, shape and type that will be right for you.
The procedure is carried out under a general anaesthetic and usually requires a one night stay in hospital.
(also known as Mastopexy):
Often after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or significant weight loss, breasts can droop. Breast uplift is a procedure which makes breasts look more youthful and firmer by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple. Surgery is carried out under a general anaesthetic and usually requires a one to two night stay in hospital.
There are various techniques that surgeons can use to perform this operation. Your surgeon will advise which is the most appropriate in your case.
(also known as mammoplasty surgery):
Breast reduction is a surgical procedure which involves removing excess breast tissue and skin to reduce the size of the breast. This surgery can help relieve the discomfort caused by large breasts, such as back and neck pain, grooves on the shoulders from bra straps and rashes under the breasts.
The procedure is carried out under a general anaesthetic and usually requires a one or two night stay in hospital.
Male breast reduction
(also known as gynaecomastia surgery):
This surgical procedure involves removing excess breast tissue and/or skin to reduce the size of the male breast. Either liposuction or a combination of liposuction and open surgery is required depending on the nature of the condition. Gynaecomastia surgery is carried out under a general anaesthetic and can be performed on a day case basis or may require a one night stay in hospital.
