Cosmetic procedures: Body
We’ve outlined some basic information about some cosmetic body procedures. The list below is not exhaustive as we offer a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures at our hospitals. Please contact us for a no-obligation quote.
(also known as abdominoplasty):
This is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat and skin from the abdominal area. In some cases the abdominal muscles require tightening. The aim is to achieve a tighter, flatter stomach.
This surgery can help women who have stretched skin and muscles following pregnancy and also those who have been left with folds of abdominal skin following weight loss through diet and exercise. Please note that surgery is not a weight loss treatment. If you plan to lose more weight it is advisable to do so before having a Tummy Tuck.
The operation involves removing excess skin and fatty tissue and is carried out under a general anaesthetic. You will usually need a two night stay in hospital.
Arm and thigh lift
Arm lift surgery, also known as brachioplasty, targets loose skin in the upper arm area. By removing excess skin and fat, the size of the upper arm is reduced and its shape and appearance are improved. Liposuction can also be employed.
Thigh lift surgery is often chosen by those who have lost significant amounts of weight and find they are left with loose folds of skin in the inner thigh area. This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the upper thighs and is often combined with liposuction to get the best results.
These procedures are usually performed under a general anaesthetic and you may need to stay in hospital for one or two nights.
Liposuction involves the controlled removal of fat from a range of areas, including the hips, thighs, buttocks, neck, arms or tummy. The procedure is carried out under local or general anaesthetic and several areas can be treated at the same time. Please note that liposuction is not designed to be a weight loss treatment or to treat obesity.
