DH asks NHS to collect 'raft of data' on quality of care

The Department of Health has issued a consultation document setting out 100 quality measures, as part of the coalition government's plan to abolish process targets.

Surveys of patients' attitudes and how well they felt their treatment went will be a key plank of the new measures.

Experts warned that the data collection task would be huge but Government officials said the 100 measures were only examples and could change after the consultation and the number may be reduced if necessary.
