Seeing your doctor
A visit to the doctor can be a daunting experience if you don't know what to expect. Circle understands this. We aim to make your visit less traumatic by providing you with as much information as possible.
Doctors are trained to diagnose illnesses by looking at the pattern of symptoms. Before your visit, write out a list of your symptoms, as well as any medication you're taking and allergies you may have. Your doctor will appreciate the effort you have put in and will be able to determine what's wrong and how to help you get better.
If you're wondering what you can ask your doctor about, the simple answer is - anything to do with your condition! Some questions you might want to ask are:
- Can you explain your diagnosis in more detail?
- Will I have to undergo more tests?
- What will the tests reveal?
- Will I have to prepare for the tests?
- When will I get the results?
- Who will contact me with the results?
- What else can I do to treat my condition?
- Will there be any side-effects or risks?
- Can I combine this with other medication?
- What will happen to me if my condition is not treated?
- How long should I continue on this treatment?
- Will I need time off work?
- Do I have to come back for a follow-up visit?
