After your procedure

Everyone needs time to recover after an operation or treatment. In some cases this may only be a short time.

After your surgery, you'll return to the designated pre- and post-operative area. During the first stage of your recovery, we monitor your progress very carefully. You may rest here until you feel fit enough to go home, which is when you decide. You'll also be offered light refreshments.

Before your admission to a clinic we will give you an approximate time when you should be able to go home. This allows you to make the necessary arrangements. If you have any worries about your journey home, speak to your nurse, and they can arrange transport for you.

When you leave we'll give you an information pack that includes:

  • A contact number for you to call if you are at all worried about your recovery.
  • Advice on what you need to do to aid your recovery.
  • Information on any drugs you've been given and how to take them.
  • Details of who to contact if you need further support related to your treatment.

We'll also provide your general practitioner with the details of your treatment. This keeps your medical record up to date and also enables them to provide you with any medical support you may need.

Because we continually strive to improve our services through patient feedback, we will also give you a questionnaire along with a stamped addressed envelope when you are discharged from the clinic's care.  We welcome your feedback and take all suggestions and complaints extremely seriously.
