Professional profile

Dr Mansfield is a Consultant Cardiologist. Having qualified from Leeds University Medical School and completed a number of junior hospital appointments in Leeds and Harrogate, Dr Mansfield moved to the South West to commence specialised training in Cardiology.

He went on to complete a two year British Heart Foundation Junior Research Fellowship at University College London where he studied the effects of the using the coronary arterial wall to balloon angioplasty and stenting. This research led to Dr Mansfield receiving the award of MD with commendations.

He spent a period of time working in the Interventional Cardiology Department in St. Katharina's Hospital in Eindhoven in The Netherlands. Dr Mansfield is also responsible for establishing the coronary angioplasty service at the Royal United Hospital, Bath which commenced in 2006.

Dr Mansfield is currently actively engaged in the education of doctors training in cardiology and is the Training Programme Director for Cardiology in the Severn Deanery.
