Dr Souter is a consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine offering a pain service at Circle Bath as well as practicing as an anaesthetist in theatres.
He has previously worked as Clinical Lead for Anaesthesia at the Royal United Hospital and is currently Lead for Preoperative Assessment.
Dr Souter qualified from Edinburgh University before undertaking further training in anaesthesia in Oxford, Berkshire and Stoke Mandeville, receiving the FRCA in 1991. He then completed a fellowship diploma in pain management in Dallas, Texas and became a fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2008.
Dr Souter has been working as a consultant in his field in Bath for over 17 years and is highly interested and motivated by his involvement in the management of pain problems in patients.
When not working Dr Souter enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
