About Circle
Around our Partnership
Circle is co-formed, co-owned and co-run by clinicians. Partnership is in our DNA. We believe that the collective intelligence of a network of many will always be smarter than any small group of executives. This is why Circle is dedicated to a radical bottom-up style of management, and to "opening the circle" by inviting the widest possible group of enthusiasts to take ownership and make contributions.
We are developing an "architecture of participation" that governs everything we do. We will add the most value as a company only by championing fresh ideas that help healthcare to transform itself for the benefit of its patients.
We aim to:
Become solution finders rather than problem solvers. Circle aims to enable the best people to take ownership. This will engage our partners, suppliers and customers on a much deeper level than otherwise possible.
Keep the focus tightly defined. We need to organise our actions in a way that is simple enough for many people to contribute, with enough speed to keep them engaged, and with the assurance to let new ideas become included without hesitation.
Keep broadening the range of participants. The power of open source management is not just that we enable lots of people to contribute, but that we allow lots of different kinds of people to contribute.
Keep it fun. Healthcare is serious business, but if we are working to tap into the brainpower of so many outside the mainstream contributors, we have to keep our open source management style passionate and dramatic.
Share the benefits. Our shareholding structure wasn't created to give everyone equity just for the sake of it. We devised the model so that the more an individual contributes, the more ownership they get, even as they enhance value for everyone.
Stay open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. We must make participation our defining strength and use it to shape everything we do. The organisation that figures out the way for everyone to win will be at the frontier of change.
