Chief Executive Officer
Paolo is CEO of Circle. He joined as the Chief Financial Officer in Nov 2010 after spending 5 years at lastminute.com. He spent the majority of this time as the UK Finance Director and subsequently became the Managing Director of some European divisions, transforming their financial performance from loss making to profitability.
Prior to this Paolo spent 7 years in the Virgin organisation, 3 of which as Finance Director of the 200-store strong Virgin Megastore business.
Paolo has a Bachelor of Accountancy from Glasgow University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Accountants for Scotland.
Massoud Fouladi is co-founder of Circle. As Medical Director, his vision has been to build a clinically-led partnership of healthcare professionals.
As a consultant in East Kent, he was involved in redesigning ophthalmic services for the region, establishing the Integrated Ophthalmic Group which brought together secondary care specialists, GPs and optometrists. This became a national model for service redesign.
In 2001, Massoud founded the Ophthalmic Clinical Leads Forum at the King's Fund. He was Chair of the Association of Ophthalmologists in the UK from 2003-2007.
Head of Mobilisation for Birmingham/China
Jacqueline leads on Mobilisation, Property, Procurement, HR and the graduate trainee scheme for Circle. Since joining the company in 2007, Jacqueline has mobilised Nottingham, Bath and Reading and is currently leading on Birmingham as well as a new international facility in China.
Jacqueline has over 25 years' experience in health, the last 15 years of which have been leading large-scale programmes. Prior to joining Circle she was Associate Director of Nursing at University Hospital Birmingham where she was responsible for managing a variety of programmes including £600m Private Finance Initiative for acute and mental health facilities.
Previously, she has held a number of roles in health care and health research and she started out her career as an Augustinian religious sister and nurse. Jacqueline holds both a BSc and an MSc in Psychology from the University of Lancaster.
Director of Business Development
Nick leads on developing strategic partnerships with other independent healthcare organisations. He is also a general and laparoscopic surgeon and practices part-time in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells in Kent. He was formerly Director of Surgery and lead clinician for upper gastrointestinal surgery at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
Nick trained in Southampton and at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals in London, and holds a Master of Surgery from the University of London.
Interim Chief Financial Officer
Sarah joined Circle as Head of Finance Operations and Contract Management in May 2016, moving from BMI Healthcare where she spent four years as Regional Finance Director, delivering significant growth in financial performance.
Prior to this she held various senior General Management and Financial Management roles at BMI, Spire and BUPA Hospital groups, following a number of years in finance at Virgin Trains and British Rail prior to that. Sarah is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Paul qualified in 1992 and trained at The Harlow Wood Orthopaedic Hospital, The Derby Royal Infirmary and The Nottingham University Hospitals. He undertook a fellowship with Peter Lunn at the DRI. He was appointed as a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon in Nottingham in 2004.
His clinical practice includes both arthroscopic and open surgery.
Mr Manning has a medico-legal interest in shoulder and elbow conditions. He gained a higher degree for research in the area of impact biomechanics in 2003.
Director of IT Transformation and General Manager, MSK
Will is the Musculoskeletal Lead for Circle. He has held a number of managerial roles since joining in 2009, most recently as the General Manager for Circle’s MSK business, as well as mobilising Circle’s IT programme in order to support the growth of the business. Prior to this, Will held a number of roles at Argos, where he worked his way up from Store Manager to Supply Operations Manager.
General Counsel and Group Company Secretary
Shane is the General Counsel and Company Secretary for Circle. His responsibilities include managing the legal function, as well as leading corporate HR and the Group share scheme. A corporate finance and M&A specialist, he has over 20 years’ experience advising public and private companies. Prior to Circle, Shane was a Vice-President at KPNQwest N.V. and worked at US and international law firms.
